On Sunday, September 23rd from 1:00 – 6:00pm, Bend residents and visitors are invited to participate in an old-style block party at the 2nd Annual Brookswood Big Block Bash (B4) at Brookswood Meadow Plaza for an afternoon of food, friends, fun, music, and more. The Plaza and its businesses, located at 19530 Amber Meadow Drive in southwest Bend, are opening their doors for this unique outdoor and indoor community celebration, which will include live music performances, the Brookswood Plaza Farmers Market, a barbecue, free balloons, and an open playground and activities for kids. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue in honor of Ashton Eaton’s homecoming celebration and all are welcome to join the Big Block Bash after the parade!

Festivities begin at 1:00pm and will include music sets on the River Rim Coffeehouse outdoor stage by: Leif James, Russell Nute, Laura Kerschner, and Railroad Spikes, among others. Over 25 local vendors are expected to fill the Plaza area with food, art, crafts and jewelry as part of the Brookswood Plaza Farmers Market season finale. C.E. Lovejoy’s Market will fire up their barbecues to add a tasty twist to the event. Toddles Preschool’s outdoor playground will be open for free family and children’s fun. Snap Fitness will be open and offering membership and training specials as well as free body fat composition analysis. Local Slice Pizza will serve up delicious food and beverage specials and 10% off any in-house or take-out pizza during the event.

Celebrating their recent opening at the Plaza and highlighting community partnership, It’s The Touch (plantscapes, flower and event specialists) will be offering free balloons to everyone as part of the event and all weekend long as part of their Grand Opening. One hundred percent (100%) of It’s The Touch sales proceeds on Saturday and Sunday will be donated to Saving Grace. Saving grace is a private, non-profit organization that partners with volunteers, medical professionals, law enforcement, social service agencies, schools and businesses in order to provide services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as training for violence prevention in our communities.
